1. The west views the east as facinating and homogeneous. The west believes the east to be non-individuals and depend on their group.
2. It means that their actions are determined by instinctive emotions rather than by concious choices or decisions.
3. Their emotions and reactions are always determined by ratial considerations and their actions are determined by instinctive emotions.
4. It benefits the west because it raises our self-esteem and creates a political capital. A common enemy can benefit a group of people because it unites the mass and they have a connection.
5. This view of the east still exists because the west is more cultured and richer. The west still considers the east as primitive just because they lack resources that we have, and we in turn persecute them for it.
