1. The longing of the girl the writer likes.
2. The man thinks he deserves the women back because he had changed her and still loves her, but now that the woman's eyes are opened, she doesn't want to go back to him.
3. The Woman can't control her feelings. The man just expects her to love him again, but she can't bring herself to because she's moved on and the love isn't there anymore.

Communist utopia
1. The walls are cracked and the trees are dead. Since everything is shared no one wants to take responisibility and fix the streets. The eyes all around the city show how no one can do anything without being noticed and there is minimal freedoms.
2. Communism can ruin a society and makes life grim and sorrow. Without individuals a nation would break down while advancing slowly. This is shown by the title, "Communist Utopia" and then the grey and black colors of the painting. The color tone indicates sorrow and unhappiness while 'Utopia' has a happy connotation.
3. The title is ironisc because the painting looks sad and dreary becuase of the color tone and the title has the word 'Utopia' in it which a Utopia means a perfect society and it is obvious this society is not perfect. The title is like this because a Communist society is meant to be a Utopia, but it never turns out exactally like one.

Brave New Worl Blog #2
1. Why does nobody like Linda?
Linda used to be apart of this society and was very well conditioned. No one seems to like her anymore. The reason for this is because she appeared ugly to others. "poor Linda - there was her appearance. Fat; having lost her youth; with bad teeth, and a blotched complexion, and that figure (Ford!) - you simply couldn't look atr her without feeling sick..." (Huxley 160) The one and only reason Linda was ignored and disliked by the society was becuase of her looks. For the most part she acted the same as everyone else. For example Huxley shows Linda telling Lenina all about how horrible the savage society is v.s the civilized society including how dreadful it is that everything is dirty, and how illogical it is that people mend all of their clothes. (129-130) What Linda groaned about matches up with the beliefs of the women of the conditioned society so the only reason they dislike her is because of her appearance.
2. Are there any harmful effects of Soma?
There is evidence for only one physically harmful thing Soma can do to somebody. As Dr. Shaw pointed out, "One day the respiratory centre will be paralyzed. No more breathing." (Huxley 161) Dr. Shaw was talking about Linda, who was taking too much Soma a day, so apparently the only physically harmful effect is over-dosing and being un-able to breathe. However, there is possibly another harmful effect of Soma. Soma could cause one to miss out in important daily activities that could cause people to get mad and shun someone. For example, Dr. Shaw states that, "you can't allow people to go popping off into eternity[popping Soma] if they've got any serious work to do." (Huxley 161) So if a citizen irresponsibly took Soma at the wrong time, and missed important buissness, there is a strong possibility that chaos would occur, and an even stronger possibility that that citizen would be hated or released.
3. Why does Lenina like John?
The main reason Lenina likes John is shallow. Lenina only likes John for his looks. Lenina states many times how good looking he is. "He's terribly good-looking." (Huxley 172). “Lenina was smiling at him; such a nice-looking boy, she was thinking, and a really beautiful body” (Huxley 126). There is no evidencce in the book for any other reason for Lenina's intrest in John.

Brave New World Response: 1
Equality in Brave New World is created in certain social groups. The equality in each social group is created by what everyone wheres and how they act. Everyone in a certain social group has the same clothes, and has been taught and educated the same way. This creates an equality between everyone in the group. At the same time however, they have been conditioned and taught that they are better than the other groups. For example, Lenina routinley states while having a casual conversation that, "I'm glad I'm not an Epsilon." (Huxley 85) this phrase has been repeated in her ear every night and now she just thinks it to be normal. This reduces conflict because it makes Lenina not want to interact with the Epsilons and it makes her not jealous either, and vice versa, Epsilons have been conditioned to think that way about Betas, and other groups. Also, since every body is taught the same ways since a little kid, there is no conflict because there are no clashing ideas in this society. Happiness has been created much like how conflict has been reduced between groups. They have been taught that they 'are happy' by conditioning them and whispering it to them at night. For example, Lenina echoes that everbody is happy now, and later in the paraagraph it explains how they have heard the words repeated a hundred and fifty times every night for twelve years (Huxley 86). By telling people that they are really happy, they start to believe it. This society is a dystopia because the society is brainwashed and imposed to do all these things like have sex, where certain clothes, and force themselves to believe they are happy. Since they have no freedom of will and must follow all orders from the government, this society becomes a facist and fake society.

Othering all day
1. The west views the east as facinating and homogeneous. The west believes the east to be non-individuals and depend on their group.
2. It means that their actions are determined by instinctive emotions rather than by concious choices or decisions.
3. Their emotions and reactions are always determined by ratial considerations and their actions are determined by instinctive emotions.
4. It benefits the west because it raises our self-esteem and creates a political capital. A common enemy can benefit a group of people because it unites the mass and they have a connection.
5. This view of the east still exists because the west is more cultured and richer. The west still considers the east as primitive just because they lack resources that we have, and we in turn persecute them for it.

Final 1984 Journal
The ending of 1984 is unexpected. Winston submits to Big Brother and 'loves' him. Orwell states that for Winston, "Everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother." (245) Big Brother, in the final line of the book, has won. He has defeated Winston by penatrating his logical thoughts and taking control of him. One possible way the state could be brought down is by the Proles. The Proles aren't as controlled by the government and have more humanistic qualitys. For example, Winston explains how, "If there is hope, it lies in the Proles” (Orwell 60.) The Prole's could take over the state because they took up most of the society, over 80 percent, and until the state see's them as a threat, they have more freedom than other members of the society. At the end of the novel, Winston probably starts to live a common life for a party member, dedicated and loving towards Big Brother. He has convinced himself that his logic is incorrect, and Big Brother's is always true. There is no indication that Winston will ever go back to betraying Big Brother.

Polygamist
1. This is a sub-culture because they fit into the broad cultures of Christian, white, and Americans, but inside that they live a different lifesyle with their marriges.
2. No, in the video the woman specifically states that they don't wish to change everyone, it depends on who you are and what you feel inside of you.
3. There can sometimes be jelousy, but they believe that it is the best thing for them to do. These ideas can often conflict because you feel two things inside of you. On the other hand, you can feel special and people that don't act this way are below you
4. External- between the law and ploygamists. They could get sent to jail becuase it is un-lawful.

Love Language
1. I assumed the girl was shy by the way she didn't talk to the guy and looked away from him. I also assumed the man was in love at first sight by the way he looked up in the sky and the look on his face/.
2. Yes, hearing is a culture because there are certain expectations that people that can hear have. For people that hear when they talk to someone they expect an answer, but deaf people can't hear so they can't respond.
3. external- the man and the girl can't communicate by talking even though they both wan't to.
4. internal- the man wanted to make a move on the girl but was worried of what the response would because she is seemingly unintrested by the way her headphones are in and she seems to be ignoring him.
5. The conflicts were resolved by writing to each other and at the end the girl revealing that she is deaf. This explained that she was somehow embarrased by her disability and by no means trying to ignore him.

Collectivsm v.s individualism
1. Personality traits likley to be ideal in a collectivist culture are loyal, dedicated, and trustworthy. In an individualist it would be more like hard-working, self-reliable, and assertive.
2. This is individualist because in a collective society people are more likley to be equal, but in an indicidualist society, it is more likley that someone will listen to a 'smart' person than a 'dumb' one.
3. An indicidualist teacher would teach like she is superior to the students and more controlling, while a collectivist teacher would focus on group activities and 'we' things. Also, she would be more submittive and it would cause internal and possibly external conflicts.
4. An acquaintance is someone you have met a few times before and are fairly familiar with. It has neither a negative or positive connotation because you wouldn't harras or be rude to an acquaintance, but you wouldn't invite them to the movies.

This Land was made for you and me
-Gunthrie's message was individualist. It was obvious because he used 'I' and 'me' a lot, and the song seemed very much about the betterment of him and not as a group. He is focused on himself, he says 'I saw the green valley.'
-He is anti-government. He talks about how there isn't a tresspasing sign, and he is happy because of it. He also talks about 'if' the land was made for you and me, which suggests he thinks it may be the government.

Should you know the other side?
Yes, you must know and understand other topics so you can have a stance and defend what you beleive in. Having a firm base can keep you from swaying your view, and may change other people's opinion on the subject.

1984 Blog #2
Winston is having a struggle in wanting freedom and his obedience to Big Brother. Winston knows if he is caught he will die, and knows he will get caught. His small acts of defiance are hidden protests. Winston can question anything he wants, he sneaks around when he wants and his small defiances show his hatred towards Big Brother. He knows that there is something better to life than trying to please the party, and he is determined to find it. Winston's protests are very different from the Wall Street protests. Wall Street protestors are open. They have signs and posters displaying what they want. They are open about what they believe in. Winston is having an internal struggle, and he has to pretend to be normal so he doesn't get killed. Wall Street protestors are protesting for fairness and Winston wants freedom. The freedom he wants, however, is not possible in the form of government his state has. Both Winston and the Wall Street protests are protesting against someone that controls them and how they live daily life.

2 + 2 = 5
According to the lyrics, the song is saying that general society soaks up the lies that the government and other people tell them and does not think for themselves.
At the beggining the tempo is slow and the melody is creepy and it feels like something bad is about to happen, but when he says "Paying attention" the tempo is more upbeat and the song is more driving.
The song alludes to 1984 because in the book every aspect of life is controlled and he believes that it is wrong to let that happen.

Islamic Women Speaks her beliefs
1. The conflict is the itemization of women and it is an internal conflict because it is the speakers belief.
2. Globalization creates conflict because different cultures come with differing beliefs and views on subjects. Most influences on other cultures today come from the west, specifically, the United States.
3. It opened to role models and created the standard to what it means to be a women.

First 1984 reading journal
Equality and conformity in the book 1984 had been established by drastic measures through the 'party' and 'thought police'. The party used slogans to try to get people to behave 24/7 like the big face of big brother with the words 'Big Brother is Watching You' that is put up every where as written on page 5. Also the Slogans 'War is Peace Freedom is Slavery Ignorance is Strength' tries to get people to stop thinking for themselves and be the same. The thought police is another drastic measure that was taken to create equality and conformity. Basically, if you had threatening thoughts you were put to death, so by killing the threats, a world of seemingly equal and same people is created.
Conflict was also reduced and tried to have been destroyed in this society. Religion is barely talked about and it is obvious nobody has a faith in a religion. Relationships, as well are not allowed to be intimate. You are not allowed to be attracted physically to your mate and sex is only to reproduce, not out of love. Relationships are not natural, they are forced and not fun. Individual rights have also been taken away, everything is controlled and you cannot choose anything in life. Everyone has the same rations of food, clothes, etc.. People are forced to seem like they're happy because they can't see the other side of the situation.
This society is clearly a dystopia because although a utopian society was in mind when the party made this society, it simply is not possible. Even though people seem happy, they really aren't because it is forced and fake. Everyone has to try not to stick out and must strive to please the party and pretend to be happy.

Utopia
A Utopia is the search for perfection in an imperfect world. Everyone gets along and there is no fights and no conflicts.
My ideal world is where everyone is respectful to me and food is free and tastes good. Other than that everything would be the same.
The soundtrack of my world would be 'I beleive I can fly'. It is a great song and peacful.

Bo Bartlett's various paintings
His culture is:
hard working
Patriotic
+
faith in the young
The ways he shows this is by the motif of a bright red shirt on a kid shows that he has hope and it also shows that he is patriotic. Also, in several paintings he paints a man with something like an axe or gun, and then he shows in the background what he did with it. For example, in Young Life there is a dead deer behind him while he is holding a gun.

Avett Brothers
Subject- A man messed up with a girl and want a second chance.
Tone- Innocent
-'Different' he says how he's a changed and good man
-'cold' he says how he used to have a cold heart, but now he is different and good
-'please' he is pleading for forgivness and how he is 100 percent a new person now

Young Life
1. The man is confident
-He is standing straight up with his chest out while a young girl rubs him.
2. The man is mysterious
-He has no facial expression and his eyes have a a shadow across so you can't see them.
3.The boy aspires to be like his father.
-The young boy has a stick that looks like hes pretending to be a gun
Children often yearn to be like their father and end up following their same path. In Bo Bartlett's painting 'Young Life' the situation is no different. The child aspires to be like his father. This claim is evident by the way that the father is holding a gun, and the child is holding a stick in the same way, it appears as if he is pretending it to be a gun. Another fact that supports this claim is that both the child and the father are looking forward with no distinguishable facial expression. This shows that not only does the boy wish to engage in the same activities as his father, but to express the same behavior and attitude as him as well.

Built To Spill
The author of the song has a negative outlook on life. He says that it is false that 'everything's gonna be alright' and that 'all we are is dust in the wind'. These statements suggest that the author is not a person that sees the good things in a situation.
The music is funky and depressing. The beat of the drums are slow and the guitar noises are long and not upbeat.
The song is good in the way it sounds and pleases the audience because the song, however depressing, is still very musical and mellow. The lyrics, on the other hand, will most likley displease a certain audience away because they are a little to depressing and could easily make people feel bad.

Critical Reading Summary
When reading, there are important steps one must make to make sure that one fully grasps and comprehends the information. The title can sometimes give hints to the tone or subject of the work. Any background information can give clues of what was going on their mind when they wrote it. The location and time of the piece is also crucial information. If a political essay was written by someone living in America during the Civil War, it may influence some of the things that the author says.
During your reading of the piece it is beneficial to take notes of what you're reading and write a summary after you have finished.
After reading the piece it is important to analyze or break down the information and topics the author has laid out and look for the main idea. After that you can now draw conclusions with the knowledge of the author's background and bias, and your analysis. After one draws conclusions, one can now link ideas of the work to make better sense of it and reconstruct ones conclusion. This critical thinking strategy is will help one understand literature better and reach logical conclusions faster.

American Tongues
Voice is how your writing sounds, how you can tell who's writing through use of tone, formation, puncuation, and other writing elements.
Every morning I wake up and smell my dad's oven roasted coffee. I never drink it though, it's too black for me. I like my coffee white.
It refelcts my voice because I use my formation of describing, and then explaining it with a short sentence afterward.
A subject I would talk around would be being pregnant. If I was pregnant I'd hint that I was and then come out and say it.
It can influence people's opinions. Avoiding inappropriate subjects would be neccesary so you don't offend people.
We can write how we talk in real life, so we have a consistant voice.

I dont Bust Back Beacaus I Bat First
I don’t Bust Back Because I Bat First
Joey Vranicar
Subject- The subject of Dave Barry’s ‘Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out,’ is that women and men care about different things, those things are mainly for women, cleaning the house, and for men, sports. The different genders care for opposite activities is illustrated by the way Barry writes that women look for and see more dirt and grime than men, and the way he wrote that he and his friends felt like they ‘needed’ to watch a baseball game.
Occasion- ‘Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out’ was written during modern times, probably during the 2000’s. This I exhibited by the way he uses certain modern terms such as ‘Windex’ and his writing style is very much how my dad would talk to me present day. The probable place of this essay’s creation is America, as it states Barry and his three friends were very anxious to watch the World Series, which is an American only sport.
Audience- Barry’s audience for Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out’ is married couples male and female in their 30’s-50. The author’s target audience is clearly exhibited by the way as he uses his own marriage as example and support many times throughout this piece. He does not talk like he would to someone older or younger, he writes as if he is talking to someone his age, and that age is around 30 to 50.
Purpose- The purpose of Barry’s ‘Batting Clean-Up and Striking out’ is to entertain a general audience, and to inform of the key differences between man and woman. He is entertaining many times because he tells personal anecdotes and adds his own humor to spice it up. He also wants to inform married couples that there are many differences between men and women. He probably wants to inform couples this so they understand the differences between their genders and don’t get into petty arguments. For example, in the fourth paragraph Barry writes, “…I tell her I already cleaned the bathroom, she gives me this look that she has perfected…” If you are a male you know exactly what the author is talking about, him exposing this truth in his essay will make women realize that men don’t know how to clean or see the dirt. This in the long term may stop future conflicts.
Speaker- David Barry, Pulitzer Prize-winning American, believes that women care too much about cleanliness. This value is illustrated by the way his wife tells him to clean his son’s bathroom, he does, but she believes that the room is still very dirty. The way he explains how his wife gave him ‘the look’ after he did a ‘great job’ cleaning makes it seem like his wife is too nit picky about being clean.
Barry, age 64, also believes that most women do not care about sports. He portrays this belief by writing that only ‘certain’ women are the exception of being callous about sports. He also states that while him and his friends were excite about a sports game, his wife and other women were just sitting and chatting about other topics. The way he portrayed these women as indifferent about the ‘big game’ makes it seem like almost all women are this way.
Tone- Barry articulates a humorous and incredulous attitude about his wife’s behavior towards cleaning and sports in ‘Batting Clean-Up and Striking Out’. The way he talks about his wife’s lack of care about sports makes her seem like a crazy and unusual person. He is in shock of how his wife could be calm when such a big game is on and he uses sarcasm and hyperboles to add a humorous tone to his arguments.

Dubstep Remix v.s Original
I like the dubstep version better than the original because I like heavy beat in my music and I have listened to dubstep previously and I always like it. The dubstep version gives the song more of a dance feel and I found myself tapping my foot, and I like those songs rather than slow sorrowful music.
The original Beatles version was more pleasing to listen to because it was softer and more peaceful. The original is thoughtful and sad, and I could listen to it 100 times through, while the other version would get annoying quick.

Art Wars
I like Kandinsky's painting better because the colors are more bright and vibrant and it doesn't look random. The shapes are clear and intentful in contrast to Pollack's painting where there are random splotches everywhere.
I think Pollack's painting is more pleasing to look at because there is no focal point. You can look at the painting as a whole without being distracted and having to move your eyes constantly. I could sit and look at Pollack's painting for 15 minutes and be happy, but after about 15 minutes of Kandinsky's my eyes would hurt.

Single affect- To find happiness, one must be open to everything around him, enjoy life, and not let anything slip away.
Three contributing factors- The narrator and the girl have matching gloves.
The way he avoided eye contact with the girl.
The way the camera was up in his face.
If there was no music in the film, the dramatic parts would have been less dramatic and the happy parts would have been less happy. The music allowed us to feel what the narrator was feeling.

I shot the elephant

Shooting an Elephant
The subject of George Orwell’s Shooting an Elephant is that pressure to do what someone wants one to make can control many decisions that one makes. This pressure is shown through a police officer’s experience where he was sent to control an elephant and ends up killing it. The officer was wary of shooting the elephant at first because it was seemingly peaceful, but he ended up shooting it because the crowd wanted him to. The officer did not want to walk away from the situation because he had a gun and he thought that he would look like a fool.
Shooting an Elephant was written during the 1920’s. The essay’s time of creation is displayed by the fact that Britain had recently took over Burma. It is supported in this essay by the way Orwell was mal treated by the Burmese and how he said that he hated the British Empire and the Burmese people. The probable place of the essays creation is Moulmein, lower Burma because the essay states it in the first paragraph.
George Orwell’s specific audience for Shooting an Elephant is anyone who is subject to negative pressure. The author’s target audience is revealed by the way he talks about his killing of the elephant was the wrong decision. He realizes that he was under pressure and he wants to communicate to people who may be under pressure themselves.
Orwell’s purpose in Shooting an Elephant is to show that if one follows the crowd and does what others want them to do, one will regret it in the long run. Orwell wants this essay to speak to others in situations like his, to make the right decision and to not make a mistake like him. The purpose to reveal the negative effects of pressure is revealed when Orwell states, “I often wondered whether any of the others grasped that I had done it solely to avoid looking a fool.” He is stating in this sentence that he is not content with the decision he made and that the only reason he did kill the elephant was to avoid looking foolish.
George Orwell, best known for his novel ‘Animal Farm’ believes that pressure can often be negative and takes great self-confidence to resist. These values are illustrated in the same situation, Orwell has an elephant gun, there is a possibly dangerous elephant in front of him, and a group of people waiting for him to shoot it behind him. He does not want to shoot the elephant at first because it seems like it is not bothering, and if he did that would be a waste of 200 pounds (British currency). However, the crowd behind him is urging him to shoot it and he doesn’t think it to be the right decision. If Orwell was confident in himself that he did not want to shoot the elephant he wouldn’t have. But the crowd behind him broke his will for the safety of the beast. Orwell shot the animal, despite his judgment.
George Orwell articulates a disheartened and un-confident attitude about pressure to do what one wants you to do in Shooting an elephant. These attitudes are expressed by the way Orwell is unsure whether to kill the animal and the way he described things after he shot the elephant. The author uses this tone to express his utter mistake and how one doesn’t have to make the same choices as somebody else.

Across the Universe- The Beatles
Three images I imagine are, rain pouring into a paper cup as it overflows, an image of the Earth from space, and light.
The rain into a paper cup is in context as the singer says those exact lines.
One symbol is the light which is the happiness of the song as well as the peace with themselves the band members must have.

The Runaway
America in the 50's was a time of seemingly endless bliss. People lived in the moments and tended to not worry about tommorow or yesterday. In Rockwell's painting 'The Runaway' there is a small child that appears to be a runaway. This child is sitting and talking with a policeman who should be trying to help get the kid back home, but instead the scene is painted as peaceful as the policeman seems to be exchanging small talk with the minor. Rockwell's "The Runaway" overlooks the fundamental rift that was rising in America throughout the 1950's - an emerging counterculture that was not concerned with how things were but rather how they are.

Inspiration Information
-The feel of this song is groovy and calming.
-The singers voice was tranquil, and you could hear him say love and had a lot of flow. The short and techno guitar noises also gave this song a techno feel.
-The song writer had to decide what beat is associated with the animated tone of the synthesizer.

Semeadors SOAPSTone
Subject- Hardworking low class person working hard.
Occasion- Doing what seems to be hard farm work in a big open field.
Audience- Lazy people who don't do hard labor that reap the benefits off the ones who really do it.
Purpose- To show how easy a lot of people have itg, and how much other people work for them.
Tone- Accusing and diminishing towards the ones who aren't doing work, but are getting something for nothing.
The meaning/theme of this painting is that it is not right how little work some people do, but they get more benefits, such as food, than the one's doing the labor. My support is the man watching has a satchel and the man working has nothing but a shovel and was working.

Wilco Song writing
Wilco's creative process to making a song is to come up with a basic beat or tune and then they deconstruct it tweak things to make it sound good, and then reconstruct it.
My Creative writing process is to come up with an idea through inspiration or a random coincidence, I then write down on a scrap piece of paper details that go with that. I then figure out what exactly I want to write about. Then I start a rough draft with the details as the paragraphs. Then I type it on the computer with more complete paragraphs and thoughts. Then I revise.

American Graffiti
Nostalgia is when you'd rather be living in the past than in the present
When I hear the song Rock around the CLock I think of several mice dancing around a clock in suits. I have always thought of that and I think it is because in my past I saw a movie and that was a scene.
Some things that come to mind when I think of my past is finger painting and eating goldfish crackers around the time when I was a kindergartener. I remember finger painting an elephant. I also remember eating the goldfish slowly and one at a time. I can taste and smell the warm artificial goldfish cheese, and can feel the cool paint through my fingers.

Pinch of Poverty
Three things that infulence and grow poverty is addiction to drugs/alchohol, unemployment, and limited education.
The artist portrays poverty as gloomy, he does so by the rainy enviroment and the sad faces he paints.
The artist's message about poverty is that there is hope that impoverished people can make it out, he also says that you can help.
Oney he conveys this message to me is by making the color of the baby's blanket stand out. The bright red blanket that the baby is in symbolizes hope that he may someday make it out of his bad situation. Also, another element, the girl is holding out her flower to sell, is a symbol for something you can do. These ways include donating, giving food, etc...

Should we beat poverty?
'Live Free and Starve', 'The Singer Soulution to World Poverty'. These are two essays with the same problem; the problem of poverty. Both authors are trying to stop world poverty, but they both have significantly contrasting opinions on how to prevent it. In 'Live Free or Starve' the author, Chitra Divakaruni, believes that these poor children should work in sweatshops to earn minimal pay, she gives a fairly resonable argument as well basically stating that it's better than getting paid nothing. However, in the other essay, 'The Singer Solution to World Poverty' the author, Peter Singer, offers a much faster, strategy. He offers that Families only spend money on neccesities and donate the rest. Some readers will have a bias against Singer because his tone of voice can be judgmental at timers. The way he supports his strategy is by telling anecdotes about greedy men watching children get hit by trains, and ultimitely making you feel guily. For example, in paragraph 14 Singer writes "I trust that many readers will reach for the phone and donate that 200$. Perhaps you should do it before reading furthur." Right there Singer assumed that most of hit audience would call to donate, he then went on to guilt you into calling by pretty much stating 'If you didn't donate then you don't deserve to read the rest of this.' I agree mostly with the first article by Divakaruni. Although it is not a particularly desireable existance for a young child her arguments make sense, and she also offered suggestions for what the government can do. For example, in paragraph 8 Divakaruni writes that, "A bill like [passed by Clinton that unemployed around a million kids] is of no use unless it goes hand in hand with programs that will offer a new life to these newly released children." This by far is the best solution and would change many lives.

'Round and Round'
Mr. Behler recently showed me a song I had never heard before. It was called 'Round and Round'. My opinion of this song was that it wasn't a great song and that I would not listen to it again. A lot of the reason I feel this way is because of some of the musical fact about this song. For example, I personally do not care for songs that change tempos periodically throughout the song. This song did exactly this, and therefore I had a bias against it. Another fact about this song is that more than one person was singing it, this also deterred me from the song. I have a bias against songs where more than one person is singing.
