Young Life

1. The man is confident
-He is standing straight up with his chest out while a young girl rubs him.
2. The man is mysterious
-He has no facial expression and his eyes have a a shadow across so you can't see them.
3.The boy aspires to be like his father.
-The young boy has a stick that looks like hes pretending to be a gun

Children often yearn to be like their father and end up following their same path. In Bo Bartlett's painting 'Young Life' the situation is no different. The child aspires to be like his father. This claim is evident by the way that the father is holding a gun, and the child is holding a stick in the same way, it appears as if he is pretending it to be a gun. Another fact that supports this claim is that both the child and the father are looking forward with no distinguishable facial expression. This shows that not only does the boy wish to engage in the same activities as his father, but to express the same behavior and attitude as him as well.
