write a contrast paragraph on the effectiveness of the two death penalty essays. Which of the two - Mencken or Kroll - do you find to be more effective in persuading you and why?
Mencken used straight forward logic, and his logic was a little sprawled. On the other hand, Kroll's essay relied heavily on pathos, and not too much logic. I feel like Kroll's essay was much more persuasive because while Mencken's essay only targeted people that shared his belief, Kroll's essay targeted anybody that has sympathy. Also, Kroll, doesn't come right out and say that he's against the death penalty, he uses descriptive words to describe his friends pain and then you get to 'decide' yourself if you're against it.
