Fallicy in Famous speaches

1. "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty."

2. The falicy commited in this quote is begging the question. It is implied that by doing these noble and great things that liberty will succeed and survive. While it is probable that it will, there is a possibility that by even doing these things, we could lose liberty. Nixon is assuming the answer. The reason he does this is so people will be on board with his agenda, he wants them to do these noble things, and them to think that it will 100% insure liberty.

3.The reason this speach is so famous and renound, is because these falacies stir up emotions and ideas that inspire and make people feel good. The reason they feel good may be because of something not necessarily true, but the fact that it does make them feel that way is enough for them to talk about the speach to others and help spread its popularity.
